Transport Network Architect

Fabrizio Ardita holds an MSc in Electronic Engineering, specializing in Telecommunications from the University of Catania, Italy. In February 2024, Fabrizio completed an MBA from Henley Business School and attained a distinction in the L7 SLMDA from the CMI.

Throughout his career, Fabrizio has been deeply involved in transport network architectures and technologies, including Software Defined Networking (SDN) and, more recently AI. Fabrizio joined Viasat (previously Inmarsat) in 2018 as a network architect in Global Operations, with the primary responsibility of developing the technology strategy of the global terrestrial connectivity.

Prior to Viasat, Fabrizio began his career in 2005 at the European Space Agency (ESA) in Germany, validating the ICT system of its first Deep Space Ground Network. From 2007 to 2014, he contributed to Capgemini Italy, providing strategic consulting, and designing optical-based solutions for major terrestrial service providers.

In 2014, Fabrizio transitioned to the Vodafone Group Technology Centre of Excellence in the UK, collaborating with open-source communities and engineering focused groups to innovate transport telecom equipment and architectures for greater flexibility and interoperability.
